The MDC has endorsed David Burnett and David Brown for Marina City Council. Frank O'Connell is set to be our new Mayor Pro Tem.
David Brown will work to bring Marina's budget under control. He opposes the tax inititatives, believing that we should lower our expenses first.
He wants to make our downtown revitalization a priority and work to make Marina a vibrant, business-friendly city -- starting with outreach to businesses and repeal of the current sign ordinance.
David Burnett will encourage a local economy that creates a diversity of jobs, in partnership with smart and sustainable growth; revitalize our downtown in ways that support our businesses and welcomes the public; ensure open and responsive government with public scrutiny at all levels, the hallmark of democracy, and see that citizens' input is welcomed and respected; and balance our City’s budget in this period of economic challenge while maintaining critical City services

Please note that I will recuse myself from substantive discussion of the endorsements (i.e., which candidates the Club is to endorse), as to Council candidates, since I am such a candidate.
